Jayasree Kadilkar is the first women International Master in Chess from India. Koneru Humpy is the only girl in the country to meet the Grandmaster title-requirements. S. Mennakshi become the fifth women Grandmaster of India. Hrikrishna became Indian’s youngest Grand Master in August 2001.
