Curinlinear coordinates, Victor algebra and Victor calculus, Eegin values and Eegin vectors, circular cylindrical and spherical polar coordinates, Matrices – Cayley Hamilton Theorem . Special Functions (Gama , Bessel, Beta, Laguerre, Hermite, Legendre) Taylor and Laurent expansions, Complex Analysis – Analytic function, residue and evaluation of integrals, poles. Fourier Series, Fourier and Laplace transforms. Introductory group theory, Tensors, representation of groups. SU(3), Irreducible representation SU (2) .
Part 2nd: Classical MechanicsLagrangian and Hamiltonian formalism, Newton’s laws. Canonical Transformation and Poison Bracket, Non linear Dynamics – logistic map – bifurcation – attractors – fractal, Hamilton Jacobi Theory, Rigid body Dynamics - Small oscillations Special theory of relativity, fractal dimension.
Part 3rd: Quantum Mechanics
Wave particle duality, Schrodinger picture & Heisenberg picture, Fundamental postulates of Q.M., Eigen value problem (particle in a box, harmonic ocillator). Tunneling through a barrier. Algebra of linear vector space, Dirac notation, Angular Momentum algebra (spin, addition of angular momentum).
Time independent perturbation theory and applications: Variational method. Time dependent perturbation theory and Fermi Golden Rule. Elementary theory of Scattering phase shifts, Born approximation, partial waves. Relaturistic Quantum Mechanics : Klein Gordon – Dirac equations.
